Runner's World is a well known consumer magazine with a heavy focus on inspiring
and motivating more people to discover
the passion of running.
With an overall feel of a companion for beginners and future runners,
the focus is angled toward motivatingpeople
to take up running, stick with their running goals, and learn all of
the basics of runningsafely.
Owned by the same company as the more professional-focused
Running Times Magazine, Runner's World reaches hundreds of thousands of
readers everymonth
and offers a variety of information, including:
Safetytips for
running in different seasons.
Announcements of upcomingraces
around the country.
Trainingplans.
Information on losingweight
with running.
Information and tips on how
tobegin running.
Motivating strategies for
sticking with runninglongterm.
Recipes
and dietary advice for runners of all levels.
When you are beginning runner, you will find that Runner's World has got lots of useful information for you and
many motivating stories that will keep you going with your newfound hobby.
The information is presented in a less intimidating style than what is presented through
Runner's Times Magazine.
The format is simple and easy to browse through and the content is accessible
and easilytranslated
into everyday life. Readers are able to read an article,
interview,
or QA section with expert runners and
learn things that will make them want to run or that will help them
with technique and time next time they hit the street or trail.
Despite the focus on beginning runners, Runner's World offers more serious articles targeted at seriousrunners and
those who race to win as well.
These articles are still written in a manner that is understandable
and useful to beginners and those who may not be quite as serious
about running just yet, but they contain very valuable information for
increasing time and speed
and training to win the next big race.
When you open this magazine and start to read there is an overall sense
of inspiration. The pages pass on the passion of running
that is obviously felt by those who write the articles and supply the interesting
and motivatingcolumns,
and it really does make you want to put down the magazine, grab your
running shoes, and hit the road!
If you fit into any of the following categories,
chances are high that you will really enjoy reading Runner's World:
I want to start running
again.
I want to learn to run
safely.
I have a lot of beginner
questions about running.
I am interested in finding
big races to compete in.
I am lost when it comes to
running but want to learn more.
I want to use running as a
method of weight loss.
I see runners out on the
road or at the park and I long to be out there with them.
Runner's World is by far not inferior to the more serious natured
Running Times Magazine. It just has a different focus that is actually verycomplimentary
to Running Times.
Many serious runners enjoy both magazines because they offer different
types of information, all of which is enjoyable and very
useful for anyone who is interested in becoming a better running or
catching the running fever.
While Running Times Magazine offers a lot of technical,
nuts-and-bolts
type of information, Runner's World
offers the inspiration and motivating that makes serious runners want
to keep going!
I myself like Running Times more because of the more targeted training
advice, but find myself picking up copy after copy of Runner's World as
well. I just love to read about running. The stories of runners who
have had to deal with adversity are genuinely inspiring and motivating.
All in all a great runner's magazine, focused at the beginning runner,
but suitable for all!
