I was looking for a replacement for my iPod in tracking my runs and I found that many Nike+ users also use the Nike+ SportBand.
I decided to give it a try because I liked the look of it and I liked the idea of not having to carry my iPod around during my runs.
Yes, the Nike+ SportBand works without an iPod! It "synchs" (I think they call it that?) with the Nike+ sensor in your shoes. It allows me to track my pace and calories burned, without having to use my iPod. I also get to review my weekly runs right on my Sport Band.
Other runners may prefer to run with an iPod in tow, but I usually run with buddies anyway and I don't always like to run with music.
It's really a great piece of equipment if you think of it. The Nike+ SportBand is easy-to-use and it gives me the basic running information I need -- distance, pace, time, and calories burned. And just in case I may want to listen to music, I can always bring my iPod with me.

Hi Andrew,
Thanks so much for this review! I was under the impression that all the Nike+ gear only worked WITH an iPod. As I hardly ever run with music, I have never really looked into the Nike+ gear very much.
