I am Dominique, founder of this site, proud father and husband, data
analyst, Dutchman living in Australia.
And I am a runner.
I have always been active in sports. My youth in Holland was dominated
by soccer.
Later I stopped playing soccer and got out of shape a bit.
Until I discovered the joy of running !

Why do I
run ?
What I love about running is how it relaxes me.
It keeps me fit, physically and mentally.
Life can be stressful.
Juggling money and needs and wants.
Two angels of children (see the pictures) who can sometimes turn into
demons.
Skipping lunch break and instead having lunch behind the desk.
But all of that is forgotten when I go outside for a relaxing Sunday
morning long run on the nature trail close by. Bit of a breeze, sun
shining and a smile on my face.
I love working out, getting tired and forgetting about everything.
It's meditation without crossing the legs or closing the eyes.

What is a
Dutchman doing in Australia
The short answer to that ? My wife.
She is Australian.
We met in 1997 while being exchange students in Colorado. We were
friends there.
A year and a half later I went on holiday to Australia. Three weeks
later I went back to Holland. Fully entwined in a long distance
relationship.
I don't know if you have ever been involved in a long distance
relationship, but I can assure you, it's a painful, complicated
business. Which usually ends in tears.
Luckily not this one though as you can see by the pictures on this page
!
We are very happy Down Under in sunny Australia. Enjoying life with our
little family.
